Youth for global health & social justice appoints
vanessa lewis as international Chaplin

Detroit, Michigan, USA (July 11, 2023) - Youth for Global Health & Social Justice (Y4GH) announces the appointment of Chaplin Vanessa Lynn Lewis as Senior Chaplin for the organization.
The mission of Y4GH is to support young people as leaders who will work to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for our global community and promote open dialogue about social injustice that impacts clean water and sanitation. As a partner organization to the United Nations, Y4GH has water projects in 12 countries. Many of these countries are amid political strife and violence, Chaplin Lewis will use her education and experience to support the volunteers, staff, and families of Y4GH through periods of stress and trauma by creating an open and inviting environment, reflecting diverse life experiences, free of judgment while providing strategies for understanding and healing.

"Born in Zimbabwe, Africa a product of an apartheid era, I have witnessed and experienced first-hand the pain and suffering from systemic political, economic, and social injustices to an oppressed people," said Chaplain Lewis. "From this seedbed of trauma, the plight of the impoverished became suffocatingly apparent leaving an indelible mark in my memory. Even as a child, I purposed to make a difference. Thus my passion for ministry was ignited."
